Nectar Drops from Srila Prabhupada
"A saintly person duty is to protect the prajā, the citizen, in a system so that they may become happy both materially and spiritually. This is one of the duty of the saintly person. Not that 'Let me go to Himalaya and press my nose, and I become liberated'. This is not saintly person. This is not saintly person. You see? Saintly person means they should be interested with the public welfare, real public welfare. And public welfare means every citizens should be Kṛṣṇa conscious, and then they will be happy, both materially and spiritually. My point is that our Kṛṣṇa consciousness movement is not selfish movement. It is the most philanthropic movement. But people, in the name of philanthropic movement, generally, because they are not actually saintly persons, they collect money and live."

Nectar Drops from Srila Prabhupada
"The mind is very restless. The whole yogic process is meant for controlling the mind, because unless you control the mind, the mind will volumes and volumes of desires, hundreds, thousands, millions. And you have to satisfy them. Then where is śānti? You have to satisfy the master. Who has become your master? Mind. Then you are disturbed. There cannot be any peace. And mind has got many millions of desires. Therefore when you can control over the mind, that mind desires something and you have to control, 'No, you cannot do it', then you become svāmī."
